El Colli Church of Christ is working through Eliazar and his wife as they go through this school in that area of San Luis Potosi for three years. We pray for them and for everyone.

En este año fuimos bendecidos grandemente. Dios nos dio y quito según su voluntad. Tuvimos una gran ventaja en muchos ministerios, algunos se bautizaron, algunos comenzaron una nueva vida de arrepentimiento, la asociación religiosa sigue adelante, y demás. Aunque tenemos algunas malas noticias en muchas cosas que se cambiaron, podemos decir que el año fue un éxito por la gracia de Dios. Pedimos muchas oraciones, y sigamos adelante en su reino para su gloria.

Last year we were blessed greatly. God gave us and took from us as we desired. We had some good advantage in many ministries, some baptisms, some returned to the Lord in repentance, and our work with the religious association were done, and more. Although we have some failures we know the year was a success by the grace of God. We ask for your prayers so we can all keep going in this kingdom for his glory.

God has created in his church a diversity of models. The church is a body moving with a countless amount of people. And this week-end we traveled to the city of Leon, Guanajuato where our son Omar works with the Leon Sur Church of Christ. We were asked to share about leadership. For the first night we had the blessing of thirty people come from three churches. We saw a great response. Although the second night was lower in attendance, we saw some return with great expectations. The teaching time ended on Sunday Morning at church. The topic was taken from the letter to the Thessalonians to show the need for leaders to be models for others to imitate. And we are lacking much in out leadership in Mexico. After years of work, our few elders are not model elders, our teachers are not model teachers....etc. God’s grace is what prompts us to move forward hoping to see improvement in our leaders.
We were blessed to fellowship with people, and we praise God for what he is doing in these churches.

Dios a creado una diversidad de modelos en su iglesia. El cuerpo se mueve con un sin numero de gente. Este fin de semana viajamos a la ciudad de Leon, Guanajuato donde nuestro hijo Omar trabaja con la iglesia de Cristo Leon Sur. Nos pidieron compartir acerca de liderazgo. En la primer noche tuvimos le bendición de mas de treinta personas presentes de tres congregaciones. Vimos una gran respuesta, y la segunda noche fue mas baja. Algunos regresaron con muchas expectativas de aprender de liderazgo. Terminamos la enseñanza el Domingo en la mañana en la Iglesia. El tema fue un liderazgo modelo tomado de la Primer Carta a los Tesalonicenses. En verdad necesitamos mas Líderes en la iglesia de Mexico. Después de años de trabajo en Mexico necesitamos mas líderes modelos, maestros modelos, etc. La Gracia de Dios es lo que nos mueve hacia adelante para mejorar nuestros líderes.
Fuimos bendecidos al convivir con gente de Dios, y adoramos juntos. Gloria a Dios por lo que se hace en todas sus iglesias

It is a great blessing to serve in his church

God has distinguish us greatly to be able to share his word. This last Friday October 21st we traveled to San Luis Potosi to participate in a lady’s day. My wife Maria Elena was the speaker in the regional meeting. Also, I was asked to preach during the Sunday worship. We got back to Guadalajara late Sunday edified by the hospitality given by our brothers and sisters of this congregation at EL Penol.

La Iglesia de Cristo que se reúne en “El Colli” celebro su patriotismo nacional con una tardeada del 15 de Septiembre. Hubo pozole, tostadas, tacos al vapor, tamales, buñuelos, duros, cacahuates, elotes, juegos de lotería, concursos de tiro a los refrescos con aros, concurso de cantos con karioke, juegos de mesa, perinola, juegos de globos en los pies, etc...
Hubo “VIVAS” a Cristo y a Mexico.

Gracias a todas las familias por su aportación diversa.

The church of Christ which meets in “El Colli” celebrated their patriotism to the nation with a fellowship meal on September 15th. There was pozole, tostadas, tacos, tamales, peanuts games, singing, balloons, etc. We celebrated all the “VIVAS” (long live!) for Mexico and for our Christ.

Our Sisters and their guest  This is a cell study which the women have had the opportunity to use to bring people to Christ. This meeting is every Tuesday at someone’s home and they divide it in two sections. One group is with women who do not know much about Jesus so it is used to share the gospel. The other half of the group is to mature Christian ladies, read scripture, etc. At the end they all come together and pray together and practice Christian fellowship. We are blessed at the church to have them with us.

The church at the El Colli in Zapopan is being blessed by God by giving us new brothers and sisters in Christ in our mission efforts. This last Saturday April 30th we were witness to the baptisms of four ladies from the congregation at the El Rodeo in Tepic, Nayarit.

We took a rented bus to move to the beach at San Blas to participate in this spiritual festivity. All was pleasing and very encouraging. All of the brothers and sisters who traveled from Zapopan returned on Sunday evening.

Please pray for our new sisters in Christ.

Después de 38 años de matrimonio hemos sido bendecidos con nuestros hijos creciendo en misiones. Uno de ellos viven en Texas y el otro en Leon, Mexico. Empezando con ellos hemos visto crecer la palabra de Dios en muchos ministerios en 21 años.

la iglesia en zapopan añade a sus edificio y tiene nuevos discípulos son levantados con el deseo de continuar la misión de las próximas generaciones. After 38 years of marriage we have been blessed to see both of our kids grow up to do mission work. One in Knott Tx and the other in Leon Mexico. Starting with this we have seen grow God’s word in many ministries for 21 years.
The church in Zapopan is adding to its building and new disciples are raised and they have a desire to continue the mission in the next generations. We honor God for what he has done for 21 years with partners like you and many servants in Mexico. Our desire is to organize, supervise and study the word to nurture these areas in being Christ’s church.

This past Sunday November 14th the church from Tepatitlan visited us here in Zapopan to let us know that Ramon wanted to be baptized. WE shared the bible in our many trips to Tepatitlan, and we are certain that God’s word is never not fruit bearer. He was immersed in our baptistery and he returned joyful. And our church here was joyful too.

At the beginning of August we started in one home a conversation about marriage every friday at eight p.m. The majority of the couples are friendly couples and sharing with one another. They are people looking for advice and ways to improve their relationship. We are using a DVD made by a counselor in the church. Last week we had 22 adult people. We pray that we will have ways to help them, and also please God.

Last Saturday 31st of August some of the members from the Church at El Colli traveled to work in the field of Tequila city. We knocked some doors and looked for good hearts which are willing to see Jesus. Evidently there are very few people who want this. It is not a discouragement for us nor the church locally.
WE are realizing the our trips every Sunday are continual for the worship, teaching, and multiplication of the body.

We ask for your prayers, and that his labor will continue to bless us. Also remember that you can also be part of this work.

Tepic Mission

Last Friday April 16th some of our members from the church in “El Colli” at Zapopan traveled to the city of Tepic to be with the local church. In the evening we were there to preach the word in a campaign. All the members and some visitors came. At the end of the meeting we shared some food and fellowship in Christ. In the pictures you can meet four people who were invited and they are beginning to assist the meetings on Sunday.

La iglesia de Cristo en Aguascalientes ha tomado con gran responsabilidad de la gran comision encargada por Jesucristo. Este trabajo lo hace la iglesia en culto publico en los parques o en las plazas de Aguascalientes cada tres meses. Yo fui invitado para predicar en el fin del mes de Marzo. Fue una buena experiencia para mi, y la iglesia dio la oportunidad a las personas que escucharan el evangelio. Es bueno saber lo que Dios hace en muchos lugares sin darnos cuenta.

The Church in Aguascalientes has taken on the great responsablity to spread the gospel, led by Jesus Christ. These gospel meetings are done every three months in the parks and public areas of Aguascalientes. I was invited at the end of the month of March to preach. It was a great experience and the church really gave the people in the town a chance to hear the gospel of Christ. It is so good to know that God is working in so many places without us ever knowing about it.

This week was the time to visit the National Capital. The purpose is to work with the legalities of the church and the government. Always is a joy to know that the church moves, but there are many things to do to achieve it. The church has many gifts and some are more important. And this Religious Association is one of them. Pray for our safety in the largest city of Mexico.

This week-end we had the blessing of hosting the second annual seminar for leaders in the region. We were five congregations represented by people who have months in minstry, and all the way to over twenty years of work. It was a time to encourage one another. Omar and Shawn (from Leon, GTO) were our teachers. WE have such a great work to be done in the country and in the world. The congregation in El Colli was a great host with much love and good food. This Sunday the Zapopan church traveled to the city of Tequila to start the new church's meeting time. One of the possible members in the city allowed the church to meet in this land. The church held 10 new people from the city and also those who traveled from Guadalajara. It is exciting to see that God is planting new places to worship him, and we pray for new brothers and sisters to be raised by faith in baptism soon. We are in need of much help, there are many expenses, bibles are needed, chairs and more!!!! pray for us, but also send your donations to us. May God bless you and come visit us too!!

After 20 years of whatever you want, is worth celebrating. My Parents in Guadalajara have been ministering in many ways for twenty years. It all started with us four - my parents, sister, and me. Now there are over one hundred and fifty people who are being ministered, four churches growing, and many future minsters being molded like Jesus. It has taken many efforts, and team work with many people.
Saturday night was a celebration for many people who were honored by the Palafox's great heart so serve the members with a dinner, gifts, a video, and many memories. Praise God for what he has done, and we hope to be close to what he will do in the next ones.
WE were encouraged by Shawn Gary's words, and with the help of many people we managed to be loved by one another. Many things were saved in a video, book, and some memorable moments.

We would like to honor the Palafox's in what they have done, are doing, and will do - because we are merely part of something great.

Después de 20 años de lo que quieran, merece una celebración. Los hermanos Palafox han estado en la ciudad de Guadalajara sirviendo en muchas maneras por mas de veinte anos. todo comenzó con nosotros los cuatro - papas, hermana, e hijo. Ahora hay mas de ciento-cincuenta gente que se ministra, y cuatro iglesias que madurar; al igual que muchos futuros ministros que son igualados con Jesus. Se ha tomado mucho esfuerzo y mucho trabajo de equipo de mucha gente.
Este Sábado por la noche celebramos con algunas personas importantes en el ministerio para honrar a los hermanos Jose y Maria Palafox. Ellos han servido y amada a todos con regalos, cena, y muchas memorias. Honramos a Dios por lo que ha hecho, y esperamos estar aquí para ver lo que hará en los próximos anos.
Fuimos animados por las palabras de Shawn Gary, y con la ayuda de mucha gente pudimos amarnos unos a otros. Mucho de los recuerdos fueron puestos en un video, regalos, y otros momentos memorables.
Deseamos honrar a los Palafox por lo que han hecho, lo que hacen, lo que harán - ya que somos solo una pequeña parte de algo maravilloso.

Tequila Para Cristo / Tequila for Christ

Gracias a Dios tuvimos la reunión en Tequila, Jalisco como se planeo por mucho tiempo. Todo comenzó desde el Martes con personas de la iglesia de Cristo en Zapopan para invitar a la gente. Mas tarde el Viernes por la mañana los hermanos de León, GTO vinieron a participar.
El viernes y Sábado alrededor de las 7:00 de la noche se comenzó la reunión con cantos, y oraciones. Y al cabo de unos minutos de adoración, el Hno. José Palafox dio el mensaje de salvación.
La reunión tenia mas de 30 visitantes no cristianos, y unos cuarenta personas Cristianas. Fue una buena dinámica para la iglesia y también los de la ciudad de Tequila.
Se espera ahora el seguimiento de los estudios los días Sábados y estamos buscando líderes que puedan continuar esta obra. Oren por los resultados y veremos pronto lo que Dios tiene planeado.

Thank God for our campaign in Tequila, Jalisco. It was planed for some time now, and it was a reality. All stared on Tuesday with some members from the Zapopan church by inviting people. Later on Friday, our brethren from Leon, GTO came to help us.
On Friday and Saturday around 7 p.m. we started singing, praying, and at the end of the time Jose Palafox lead the message of salvation.
Our meeting had over thirty non-christian visitors and some forty Christians. It was a good dynamic between the church and the city of Tequila.
WE now focus our work to the follow-up and we will continue to study on Saturdays looking for leaders to keep this work. Please pray for the results and we will see soon what God is planning.

Dos mujeres nos han recibido por dos sábados para estudiar el evangelio en sus casas. Una de las señoras se llama AMELIA.

La otra se llama MARIA DE JESUS.

Hoy sábado 24 de Julio conocimos a una pareja que también nos recibió en su casa. Ellos tienen dos niños y una niña adolescentes. La pareja se llama CIRILO Y SU ESPOSA MARIA EUGENIA. Esperamos tener una foto de ellos pronto estudiando la Biblia.

Tequila has people for Christ. Although there are many violent acts because of the drug wars in Mexico, but God will protect us.

Two women have welcomed us in the last two Saturdays to study the gospel in their homes. One of the lady’s name is AMELIA, and the other one is called Maria de Jesus.

Today Saturday 24th of July we met a new couple who also welcomed us in their home, they are a family with two sons, and one teenager daughter. Their names are CIRILO and his wife MARIA EUGENIA. We will share a new photo soon when we study with them again.

After over two hours of delay in the GDL airport, the group arrived safe and with a great spiritual gift to all of us. The Leaders in the Church in GDL were ready with some chicken and they asked all of us to share our lives with each other by telling us their stories with God. We had a good night, and praised him for giving such a misional church like El Colli church to plant churches that plant churches for almost twenty years.
We are happy to see these visitors come and be close to the work. Praise him!

Después de dos horas de retraso en el aeropuerto de Guadalajara el grupo llego con muchos regalos espirituales para nosotros. Los lideres de la iglesia en GDL estaban listos con pollo y se pidió que compartiéramos nuestras vidas platicando lo que Dios ha hecho. Fue una buena noche y alabamos a Dios por una iglesia tan misionera como El Colli que lleva plantando iglesias que plantan iglesias por casi veinte años.

A rainy day! / Un dia on lluvia

Christ is at work without us knowing what he is doing!

Regularily I have expectations with conversations I have with non-Christians when we speak of church. Or when I talk to prospects to study the bible. I expect people like this to come to Christ, but He is working with people that need to come to his church and none of us had connection with them. It is simply a surprise to me. On Wednesday July first there was a brother who came to visit me in my office, he was baptized by me in the beginning of the year. He told me that he had been evangelizing with what he knew. And a friend at work asked him to share with her and that she was ready to be baptized. So she was ready that Thursday. She had to be at work early so we did it earlier that day.
My joy was to see our new brother Joel to be an evangelist in a few months of his conversion. He has brought two of his co-workers from his job.
So I told him to come at 7 am to baptize his friend and that the water would be ready. Next day there was rain in the city. My wife and I still went to the building and got everything ready. And without any concerns they were there. They came by bus from a long distance with joy to be baptized.
The rain kept coming down on Sarah, (now our sister in Christ) but she was baptized. Christ works with who he pleases when he pleases.

CRISTO TRABAJA SIN QUE NOSOTROS SEPAMOS CON QUIEN LO ESTA HACIENDO !

Regularmente yo tengo expectativas de conversiones al cristianismo de personas que nos visitan a las reuniones de la iglesia, o de prospectos con los cuales estudiamos la Biblia. Es de esas personas de las cuales yo espero que algunas vendrán a Cristo. Pero, Cristo esta trabajando con personas que va a enviando a esta Iglesia que yo y nadie nos imaginamos. Mi sorpresa fue que el miércoles primero de Julio vino a la oficina un hermano nuevo que bautice al principio de este ano, y me dijo: He estado evangelizando con lo que yo se de la Biblia, a una compañera de trabajo, y ya esta lista para bautizarse. Y quiere hacerlo mañana jueves si es posible. Por motivo de la entrada a su trabajo esta dispuesta a bautizarse temprano en la mañana.

Mi alegría fue de sobremanera manifiesta al hermano Hector Joel. Mayormente porque en unos pocos meses de cristiano, este hermano ha traído a Cristo a dos compañeros de su trabajo. Le dije: No se diga mas. Mañana esperamos a su amiga a las siete de la mañana con el agua lista para bautizarla. Al amanecer del día del bautismo estaba lloviendo en toda la ciudad. Sin menospreciar las palabras del hermano Joel, acudimos mi esposa y yo al edificio para esperarlos a el y a ella. Y así fue: Tal como nos anunciaron que estarían allí para que ella se bautizara, sucedió. Llegaron en camión desde una colonia algo retirada del edificio, ya lista ella con mucha alegría para bajar a las aguas del bautismo.

La lluvia seguía cayendo, pero nada impidió que la señora SARA ( ahora nuestra hermana en Cristo ) fuera bautizada.

Cristo trabaja sin que nosotros sepamos con quien, ni a través de quien !

SEGUNDO REPORTE TRIMESTRAL - 09

La Iglesia de Cristo de EL COLLI - ZAPOPAN ha sido bendecida por Dios con la llegada de nuevas personas que estan buscando iniciar su historia personal con Cristo. 9 personas se han bautizado en los ultimos meses de este ano. Lo anterior ha traido a la iglesia un buen animo. y lo compartimos con ustedes que son parte de esta obra.

En lo relativo a Misiones:

1.- Mision Tepic -- La Iglesia de Cristo en esta Ciudad sigue manteniendo su fe en Jesucristo. El predicador y su esposa, Carlos y Nadia, siguen trabajando con la Iglesia local y tambien siguen buscando nuevos prospectos para sembrar la Palabra.

2.- Mision Tequila -- La Iglesia de Cristo de Zapopan sigue viajando a esta ciudad para tocar las puertas y encontrar a las personas que Dios tenga ya dispuestas para anunciarles el evangelio de Cristo. Este trabajo ha sido una buena oportunidad para entrenar a miembros de la iglesia de Zapopan en el evangelismo practico. Este entrenamiento es ya el primer beneficio para la gente de Zapopan.

3.- Mision Tepatitlan -- El pasado 15 de Junio celebramos el primer aniversario de esta mision. Por lo menos tres domingos de cada mes, viajamos por las tardes a esta ciudad de Tepatitlan, Jalisco. Alli nos esperan hermanos y hermanas de la iglesia local para celebrar la adoracion. Ellos no tienen predicador. Nosotros vamos con mucho gusto. Estamos orando a Dios y tenemos planes de estar con estos hermanos cada domingo a partir de Enero 2010.

4.- La construccion material del edificio de Zapopan -- A fines del mes de Mayo detuvimos la construccion del auditorio porque se nos terminaron los fondos. Por ahora vamos a esperar el tiempo que sea necesario para ahorrrar lo que se ocupa para poner el techo. Para esa parte de la construccion debemos ahorrar por lo menos diez mil dolares. Con la ayuda de Dios esperamos tenerlos para Marzo del 2010.

Second Report 2009 - Trimester

The church at El Colli - Zapopan has been blessed by God with the arrival of new people who are seeking to begin a new personal history with Christ. Nine people were baptized in the last three months of 2009. This has been uplifting to the church and we share this exciting time with you all.

Missions News

Tepic Mission - The church of Christ in the city keeps going in their faith in Jesus Christ. The preacher and his wife, Carlos and Nadia, are great workers with the local church and looking to grow more planting his word.
Tequila Mission - The church in Zapopan has traveled to the city of Tequila to door knock and looking for people who are willing to talk about God and his gospel. This work has been a good opportunity to train our local members in the church in practical evangelism. It is a dual blessing to the church
Tepatitlan Mission - Last June 15th celebrated our first anniversary with this work. And at least three sundays every month we travel in the afternoons to the city in Tepa to celebrate worship with them. They do not have a preacher nor minister, but we are praying for more workers and we plan to be with them every Sunday starting in January 2010
Our construction here in the building was stopped in the end of May. We do not have more funds to continue the construction. Our plan is to start saving again, and build some more funds provided by your partnership to finish the roof. The need is almost ten thousand dollars, and we hope that God will provide these by March 2010.

La construcción del auditorio de la Iglesia de Cristo en el Colli esta llegando a la parte mas alta de sus paredes. Esta fue la primera etapa que teníamos considerada según los fondos. Por lo pronto detendremos la construcción y esperamos mas fondos para continuar mas adelante. Oren por esto y muchas gracias pos tu ayuda.

This was the first stage that we had considered doing with the funds available. Soon we will stop construction and wait for more funds to continue later. Paty was added to the body on Sunday May 31st. It was a blessing to see such a good hearted girl to the kingdom. She has been around us for some time now, and her mother is a member in the church in Tepic.

We traveled to Leon for a Omar's birthday and Maria was asked to speak at the women's breakfast which the ladies in Leon have every week. There were thirteen or fourteen ladies and God blessed us with a good message to be warn about Satan's schemes. Please pray for the church in Leon, and praise God for what he does in the world.

El Domingo 17 de Mayo tuvimos gran fiesta espiritual con el bautismo de Luis Fernando. Junto con esta gran celebraron oramos con el, porque el pasado Miércoles 13 de Mayo se caso con nuestra hermana Paty Reyes.
Ambos estuvieron muy contentos con la atención y felicitación que la iglesia les dio.

Hello, this is a quick note to let everyone know that God is blessing us. There are many new changes in our lives with all this Flu chaos. But we still have our times together and worship by small groups. Part of this new changes is that we were able to be home to rest, and have time to read, write, and more. So we are excited to see what the church will be after these two weeks. Our Sunday worship was divided in small groups of under ten people to meet the city ordinances of crowd control. The church met in time, and God was praised. Please keep this issue in your prayers and ask God to open up people to receive his Gospel.

UN VIAJE DE LA IGLESIA DE ZAPOPAN PARA VISITAR A LOS HERMANOS DE TEPIC, Nayarit.

El pasado Jueves 16 de Abril salimos de Zapopan 23 personas entre niños y adultos para hacer un viaje a la ciudad de Tepic y visitar a los hermanos de la Iglesia de Cristo de la Colonia "EL RODEO". Hicimos el viaje a bordo de 4 automóviles. Cuando llegamos a Tepic nos estaban esperando los hermanos con mucho gusto. Igualmente nosotros estábamos muy contentos de verlos. Ese día paseamos juntos por la ciudad, y por la tarde hicimos el plan del viaje de todos para el día siguiente. El plan era ir a la playa de San Blas para realizar el bautismo de 3 jóvenes de Zapopan. Así lo hicimos. El viernes 17 de Abril salimos de Tepic rumbo al Pacifico. En total éramos 32 personas. Los nombres de los jóvenes que se bautizaron son: Alexander, Ricardo, y Montserrath. Disfrutamos esa fiesta espiritual y también tomamos tiempo para meternos al mar. Por la tarde regresamos a la ciudad de Tepic. Alla seguimos la convivencia con una cena de carne azada. Cuando acordamos ya eran las 10 de la noche. A esa hora ya se notaba el cansancio casi en todos. Cada familia se fue a dormir para estar listos para el regreso a Zapopan al día siguiente. Ya el día siguiente que era sábado 18 de Abril , solo desayunamos todos juntos en la casa del hermano Eligio, y salimos de Tepic antes del medio día. Arribamos a Zapopan por la tarde. Fueron 3 días de convivencia cristiana.

La fiesta espiritual siguió en Zapopan al día siguiente, domingo. Tuvimos el bautismo de una mujer. Ella se llama Karla. Ella no pudo hacer el viaje a Tepic, por esa razón decidió bautizarse en Zapopan.

Otra de las cosas que nos tienen con atención, es la construcción del auditorio en el lugar de reunión de Zapopan. Aquí pueden ver la obra de esa construcción material.

Pedimos a todos nuestros lectores sus oraciones por esta obra espiritual y material a cargo de esta iglesia.

Igualmente les agradecemos a todos los hermanos locales y extranjeros por su corazón puesto en este trabajo.

Zapopan Church Visits our brothers in Tepic, Nayarit

Last Thursday April 16th 23 people left with kids and all to have a trip to the city of Tepic to visit our brothers in the church in the neighborhood called “El Rodeo.” We traveled on four vehicles. And the church welcomed us with much rejoicing. So we were pleased to see them too.
During the first day we surveyed the city and prepared for the next day. The plan was to go to the beach at San Blas to baptize 3 young men and women from the church in Zapopan.
So next morning we left towards the pacific with over 32 people. Our new members names were: Alexander, Ricardo, and Montserrath. It was a spiritual feast and we finished the day enjoying the beach. Than afternoon we returned to the city and had a night of grilling. Before we knew realize it, it was 10 p.m.. We were exhausted. We all were hosted by the church, and we rested to return next day to Zapopan. On Saturday we had breakfast at Elijio’s house and arrived later that same day to our homes. It was three good days of Christian fellowship.

This Spiritual Feast continued next day at the church in Zapopan. WE had another conversion by baptizing Karla. She was not able to go with us, but she decided to do it there at the church.

We also would like to share these pictures of out construction of the auditorium. There is progress but we ask of your prayers to finish this charge given to us.

In the same way we wanted to thank you and also those who work with us locally, and internationally to place their hearts here.

Historia de esta Iglesia.

Una de las cosas que más consume a un verdadero evangelista es el cuidado espiritual que debe proporcionarle a los miembros a los cuales les predica. Esa labor siempre requiere atención. Yo recuerdo mis primeros años de evangelista siempre visitando a los hermano para saber cómo se encontraban en su salud espiritual.
Tengo en mi mente una lista de familias que en 1994 estaban ingresando a esta congregación y ellos significaban la razón de mi ministerio y mi motivación diaria. Su deseo de crecer en el evangelio me mantuvo apasionado en mi labor de evangelista.
En realidad ellos me ayudaron a mi, más que yo a ellos. Gracias hermanos.

NOTICIAS DE LA CONSTRUCCIÓN

Otras de las bendiciones que hemos recibido de Dios, es la dicha de ver cómo se va transformado la parte posterior del lugar de reunión en El Colli. La construcción del auditorio cada día muestra mayor altura en sus muros. Los constructores, dirigidos por el Ing. Jair, meten el material que descargan los vendedores en la puerta. Otros más expertos se dedican a preparar la mezcla, construir muros, y colar castillos. Es un placer llegar al lugar y dirigirnos hasta la parte de atrás para contemplar los avances de la obra terrenal.
Compartimos a ustedes este gusto, y pedimos que por favor nos tengan en sus oraciones para agradecer a Dios por todas las personas que han contribuido con fondos para la realización de este proyecto. Igualmente invitamos a quien guste aportar algo para este propósito lo haga.

History of the Church
One of the most consuming parts of a true evangelist is the spiritual care given to those being preached to; it always requires attention. I remember the time when I would visit all the brothers and sisters to know about their spiritual health.
There is a long list of all the families in 1994 who came to the church. Every one of them represented the reason of my ministry and daily motivation. It was by this passion that carried us by hard time to grow the labor I had as an evangelist.
In reality, they helped me more that I could ever had helped them. thank you brethren.

Construction News

God has blessed us with may good blessings. And one of those blessings is to see the transformation happening in the back of our building at the Zapopan Church. Our auditorium is being constructed and our walls are raised. Our workers are directed by the Engineer Jair. Material is being brought by the salesmen. Experts are laying bricks and cement for our columns. It is a pleasure to come and direct and just see it progress.
We share this with you so we may pray together to thank God and all the people who made this possible. And we challenge you to keep giving as you may wish.

El pasado dia 10 de Febrero La Iglesia de "EL COLLI" EN ZAPOPAN fue bendecida con el bautismo de nuestro hermano PABLO.

Pablo es un joven que nos visito una sola ocasion a la reunion del domingo 8 de febrero, y alli decidio regresar el martes 10 para ser bautizado. y asi fue. Ahora es nuestro nuevo hermano en la fe en Cristo Jesus.

Gracias a Dios por las bendiciones que nos da. Rogamos a todos sus oraciones para esta iglesia de Zapopan.

Last Feb 10th in our churhc in El Colli in Zapopan we were blessed with a baptism of our new brother PABLO.

Pablo is a young man who had visited us in our meeting on FEB 8th, then he decided to come back on the 10th to be baptized. So that's what happened. Now out new brother is in Christ in faith.

We thank God for all the blessings he give us. And we ask for your prayers for this church in Zapopan.

This weeks we are blessed to see his hand in what we are doing. There are new challenges and hopes for the church but we ask for your prayers.

We visited the church in Tepa and life is good. The church is maturing and needs more leadership. Pray for a preacher for them soon.

Also, we are still making plans to go to Tequila soon to begin our work there.

We celebrated a Baby Shower for Carlos and Nadia in Tepic and they were blessed with good gifts and love from the church.

The Architect will start bringing materials this week and will work to the max the next three months. Pray for our funding, and timing.

Finally, we will be goingt to Torreon for a preacher and leadership seminar. Please pray for a safe trip.

Gracias a Dios que nos permitio reunirnos en la ciudad de Queretaro para la XVII Asamblea General Ordinaria. Fue todo un exito para la gloria de Dios. Muchos de los puntos importantes fueron hablados, y decisiones fueron tomadas. Oren hermanos para el crecimiento de la obra en Mexico.

There will be lots of construction to be done, and we will have some pictures soon. Also, we are excited about the new work in Tequila, and the help by Leon Sur. The members in Tepic are still strong with Calros. And we pray for the new developments in Tepatitlan.

The Annual Chuch's Asociation meeting will be held this January in Queretaro and we hope to inform you of what will happen too.

On the first Saturday in the month of December we were invited to a day of celebration. Maria was the key speaker and brought her message from Romans 12. It was a success. There were several churches represented, and some thirty kids too. From the Zapopan church we were a group of eleven, they loved it.

A Dream comes true

Note from the preacher at Zapopan: Jose Palafox

September – 2008

The “El Colli Church of Christ” in Zapopan was blessed by God with the reality of a dream – the first stage of our plan form missions in 2004-2007 was fulfilled. For the church in Zapopan was a first stage but also was an opportunity to work for Christ and to see a new church be planted.

Starting in September 2008 the church in Tepic consists of 10 adult members with a good amount of children. Also, now they have a full time preacher to work with them. Also, there are several prospects for future conversions.

Truly we are filled with nostalgia to have finished our trips to Tepic, but we have learned to love the people in this city. We will continue to support this work with our prayers, and our financial commitment to the Carlos and Nadia. They are expecting, and will be parents in six months.

Now, the Zapopan church will begin a new stage in missions in the city of Tequila, Jalisco 2008-2011. The idea is to repeat the work during a four year period similar to the one done in Tepic. We want to plan a new church and find a preacher with them.

Every time we drove to Tepic we passed Tequila, and our hearts and prayers have been there and we cannot wait to get there. We will begin this October 2008.

We ask our brothers and sisters of the Churches of Christ to pray for us. And we thank you.

Ellos venían del D.F. y estaban llegando para vivir aquí. Estuvieron con nosotros aproximadamente un año. Así mismo como llegaron, desaparecieron de nuestras reuniones. I recall those days when we pirchase the first chairs because we had more visitors on Sunday Mornings. It was 1991 and our first couple in our Arboledas location was Dulce and Isidro. They came from Mexico City and were moving to Guadalajara. They stayed for almost a year. We have good memories with them, we pray God will protect them and we will never forget them.

IGLESIA DE CRISTO '' EL COLLI '' ZAPOPAN, JAL. MEXICO.

DIOS ha seguido bendiciendo a la Iglesia de Cristo en Zapópan. En este segundo trimestre del año 2008 hemos visto notoriamente el trabajo poderoso de Dios moviendo corazones para que vengan a Cristo. Cuatro personas vineron del mundo a Cristo y a la Iglesia en Zapopan. Ellos son: Karina, Juan Carlos, Ramón, y Eduardo. Ellos fueron bautizados para perdón de sus pecados y ahora pertenecen a la familia de Dios. Esta bendición llegó como una regalo de Dios para todos nosotros, y para ustedes tambien en Heritage, y en Bell Trust. ¡ Disfruten el regalo !

De la construcción del edificio de la iglesia en Zapópan.

Nos encontramos todavía en espera de la autorización del permiso para construir. Las autoridades nos han puesto una lista de requisitos que debemos cumplir antes de otorgarnos el permiso. Ya solo nos falta obtener un contrato de renta de un lugar para estacionamiento de automóviles. Este es un requisito obligatorio para todas las personas u organizaciones que quieran construir un lugar abierto al público.

La Arquitecta Patricia y su esposo el Ingeniero Jair nos expusieron el proyecto de la construcción que ya les aprobaron la autoridades correspondientes, solo que no pueden empezar a construir hasta que rentemos el lugar para el estacionamiento de autos. Esperamos que en este tercer trimestre del año se empiece la obra y avancemos hasta donde alcancen los fondos que ustedes nos han dado. ¡ Muchas Gracias hermanos !

LA MISIÓN DE ZAPOPAN EN LA CIUDAD DE TEPIC, Nayarit

Seguimos viajando frecuentemente a la ciudad de Tepic para atender a los hermanos de la Iglesia de aquel lugar. Y lo seguiremos haciendo hasta que llegue el predicador que vamos a llevar. El predicador y su esposa (Carlos y Nadia) van a llegar a Tepic en Agosto. Ellos viven ahora en Torreón, Coahuila, México, pero terminarán su compromiso allá en Agosto y al final del mes estarán dispuestos a moverse para Tepic. Los estamos esperando con mucho gusto. Por cierto que tuvimos noticia de que ellos ya van a ser Papás. Nadia está embarazada y su BB nacerá en Tepic, con la ayuda de Dios.

Con la llegada del predicador a Tepic, la Iglesia de Zapópan estará cambiando su mirada a la nueva misión que va a iniciar en Tequila, Jalisco. Esta obra va a arrancar en Octubre de este año, y trabajaremos alli hasta el año 2011. Pedimos a ustedes sus oraciones.

Dios bendiga a ustedes y a nosotros en la obra de Su Hijo Jesucristo.

SECOND TRIMESTER REPORT – 2008

“El Colli” Zapopan – Church of Christ

God has continued to bless us in this second trimester at the Church of Christ in Zapopan in 2008. We have noticed the powerful work of God moving people’s hearts towards Christ. During this trimester we had four people who came from the lost world to Christ and the church in Zapopan. Their names are Karina, Juan Carlos, Ramon, and Eduardo. These were baptized for their forgiveness of their sins, and added to the family of God. In this blessing we see it as a gifts for all of us; as well as Heritage and Bell Trust. Enjoy your gift too.

BUILDING CONSTRUCTION IN THE CHURCH IN ZAPOPAN

We are still waiting for the permit to construct from the authorities. The government has given us a long list of requirements and we have to meet them before starting the construction. All we are lacking at the moment is the contract for a rental parking so cars can be located there for church events. This is an obligation which the church must provide because we are a public place.
The Architect Patricia and her husband Jair demonstrated to us the project after it was verified by the authorities. They are ready to begin, but we are lacking the green light. We are eager to begin construction this year and we will use our funds accordingly.

ZAPOPAN MISSION IN THE CITY OF TEPIC

Nayarit:

We are in continual journeys to the city of Tepic to fellowship with the church. We are committed in doing so until their preacher arrives this August. Carlos and Nadia will arrive from the city of Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico where they attended school. They are committed and ready to move. We eagerly wait for them. Also, pray for them since we were just informed of their pregnancy. Nadia hopes to have her baby in Tepic, God willing.
Once they arrive in the city of Tepic, the church in Zapopan will begin their new mission in Tequila, Jalisco. We hope to begin this work in October this year until 2011. Please pray for us.

VISITANDO HERITAGE CHURCH OF CHRIST

En atención a la invitación que recibimos de Heritage Church of Christ, el pasado Viernes 16 de Mayo-08 mi esposa y yo volamos de Guadalajara a Houston, y de alli a Dallas, Tx.

Nosotros estuvimos esperando este viaje con mucho gusto, porque entre la iglesia de Heritage y la iglesia de Zapopan existe una larga historia que nos une en la obra de Dios en México. Esta fue una buena oportunidad para mí para informar a Heritage Church of Christ acerca del trabajo realizado hasta ahora en Zapopan, y tambien informar de los proyectos del futro especialmente en nuevas misiones .

En una manera muy inteligente, Jim Hackney planeó hacerme una entrevista a través de preguntas y respuestas, y de esa manera yo hablara acerca del asunto en el cual ellos tenían interés. Así se hizo. En realidad fueron dos entrevistas acerca de lo mismo, ambas en el Domingo a la hora en que usualmente Jim predica a la Iglesia.

Debido a que el idioma Inglés no es mi idioma natal, recibí la ayuda para la traducción de un hermano que se reune en Richland Hills Church of Christ. Su nombre es Gustavo. Muchas gracias Gustavo.

Respondiendo a las preguntas de Jim, traté de explicar a la iglesia un resúmen de mi vida personal, familiar, y de mi ministerio en la predicación.

Al otro día, es decir, el lunes 19 por la tarde, tuve una reunión particular con los líderes de la Iglesia de Heritage. En esta reunión tuve la oportunidad de explicar más ampliamente algunos puntos que no fueron tratados en las entrevistas anteriores.

El Martes 20 de Mayo regresamos a Guadalajara igualmente via Houston. Dios estuvo con nosotros en todo.

Doy mi reconocimiento a la iglesia de Heritage y a sus líderes por su hospitalidad, y por su interés en seguir apoyando el trabajo en Zapopan a través de mi ministerio. MUCHAS GRACIAS A TODOS. Igualmente rogamos a Dios por ustedes.

Visiting Heritage Church of Christ

My wife and I received an invitation to visit Heritage Church of Christ on Friday the 16th of May. We flew from Guadalajara to Houston and then to Dallas.

We were excited about the trip because the church at Heritage and the church in Zapopan have a long history in the work of God in Mexico. It was a good opportunity to share with the church all that concerns the work being done in Zapopan and to inform them of all the new projects in future missions.

In a very intelligent way Jim Hackney planned an interview with questions and answers about topics of interest, but in reality this was two interviews on the same day. These were done during the time that Jim usually preaches at church. Since English is not my first language, I was helped by a brother from Richland Hills Church of Christ, Gustavo. (Thanks Gustavo)

Part of the questions I answered with Jim, I tried to explain briefly all of our personal information about our family and children and also our preaching in Mexico.

On Monday, May 19th, we had another meeting with the leaders of the Church and at this meeting we had the opportunity to explain on a greater level the themes that were talked about in the interview.

We returned to Guadalajara on May 20th and God was with us.

I would like to acknowledge the Church at Heritage and her leaders for their hospitality and their interest to keep supporting our work in Zapopan. MUCHAS GRACIAS A TODOS. (Thanks to all)

Staying Focused - Estamos Enfocados

The work with the church in Zapopan and Tepic is on its way. We recently had some good time reaching the lost and bible studies. Our cells are getting stronger and we pray that some more people will open their home to us.
The plans to constuct are going well with a few adjustments but nothing weird. Also, please pray for Jose as he is recovering from surgery. And their upcoming visit to Heritage for mission Sunday.
We are praying for Carlos and Nadia to finish their schooling and preparation to move to Tepic soon.

El trabajo en la iglesia de Zapopan y Tepic sigue adelante; y recientemente hemos tenido buen trabajo con evangelismo y estudios en casas. Nuestras celulas siguen mas fuertes y oramos que las personas nos abran sus hogares.
Los planes de construccion siguen bien, con algunos cambios pero nada fuera de lo ordinario. Tambien, porfavor oren por la recuperacion de Jose de su cirugia; y tambien su visita proxima a Heritage para misiones.
Seguimos orando por Carlos y Nadia para que terminen su preparacion y escuela para que se cambien a Tepic pronto.

Carlos Fernandez is 28 years of age and has been married to Nadia for only a couple of years. At the moment they do not have any children. He was raised in a Church of Christ administered children’s home in Ensenada, Baja California, where he was raised with devotion to God. He was baptized in 1996. After finishing his high school he attended the School of Preaching in the city of Torreon from 2003 to 2006. While he attended school he was an evangelist and brought ten souls to baptism.
Now, his wife continues to be a student in the same school and plans to graduate this July 2008. Part of his job is assisting one of the profesors in the preaching school. And also he works in a body shop for autos to make some money. On the week-ends he travels to Mapimi, Durango to work with that church. Their commitment is to work with the Zapopan church in the city of Tepic as soon as she graduates from the preaching school. He will be working with the new church planted in 2006 as the precher.

Carlos y Nadia - Oren por ellos...

Carlos Fernandez tiene 28 anos y esta casadocon su esposa Nadia, pero no tienen hijos. Crecio en una casa hogar que tiene la Iglesia de Cristo en Ensenada, B.C. Mexico. La casa hogar le ayudó en sus estudios hasta la preparatoria. De la casa hogar le siguieron apoyando para que fuera a estudiar para predicador a la escuela para predicadores de torreon, coahuila, mexico. Fecha de su bautismo cristiano: 1996. Estuvo en la escuela para predicadores en el ciclo escolar 2003-2006. Durante el año 2005-2006 siendo estudiante en la escuela de torreon inició una congregación en el area con el apoyo de la escuela biblica. Durante ese tiempo de estudiante y de obrero ( 2005-2006) bautizó a 10 personas. Actualmente durante la semana por las mañanas colabora como profesor en la escuela para predicadores de torreon, y por la tarde trabaja en un taller de laminado y pintura de automóviles. Los sabados y domingos viaja a Mapimí, Durango para predicar en una congregacion local. Su esposa Nadia es actualmente estudiante en la escuela biblica de Torreon, y se va a graduar en el proximo mes de julio-08. Al fin de los estudios de nadia, ambos viajaran a tepic, nay. Mexico para trabajar con la nueva iglesia de cristo que la iglesia de zapopan inició el año 2006

ZAPOPAN CHURCH OF CHRIST

According to the previous plans presented for this 2008 God has blessed the church and us with good growth and challenges. Our work has taken different shapes and forms, but we are confident in prayer that we will glorify the Lord in Mexico. In a few words the harvest continues and this is a quick update.

THE PALAFOX FAMILY
My wife, Maria, and I have continued working together in ministry this year with many new challenges, but good achievements too. Also, we enjoy being with our children who live in the city of Leon planting churches. Not to mention time with grandkids, foods, and prayer time together.
Part of our roles in the church involves weekly bible studies at homes, visits, and preparation for Sunday worship. Also, we participate as administrators with the Religious Association of Mexico of the Churches of Christ. In this association our job is to connect church’s legal business with the Mexican government.
In addition the church is training leadership from young men and women to fulfill various ministries. Like ladies days, youth rallies, and such. Occasionally we travel to take care of different affairs with other churches. Lastly we attended the preacher’s seminar in the city of Torreon provided by Glen Owen from Abilene Texas for personal nurturing.

‘’EL COLLI IGLESIA DE CRISTO’’ – ZAPOPAN, MEXICO

Our local church continues to be aware of our purpose and excited to participate with our plans. First, concerning our construction site, we conversed with the initial architect who is laying all the foundational work in permits, paperwork and a simple model for us to use as a guide. This far we are glad to see no red flags to make our work harder, but we pray for continual improvement. We started paying for the architect’s charges, as well as other fees, and price permits.
Secondly, since churches in Mexico are not tax-exempt we paid our yearly property taxes as well as our water bill for the whole year. It is good to have these paid in advance for the rest of the year.
In our spiritual end we are focusing on working at people’s homes and keeping with bible studies during the week. Our members are happy to open their homes, but we use the building normally every Sunday, or any other activity like Wednesday night. Concerning the church’s commitment to their part in our offering we are glad to report that they are keeping their financial end as well in their going to Tepic and Tequila for spiritual support.

TEPIC IGLESIA DE CRISTO - NAYARIT
As the year started the new planted church has been aware of their commitment to Christ. These new members are focused and willing to work with the El Colli Church and others for maturity. We started going to Tepic every other Sunday in order to allow their independence and growth spiritually. Our members travel and visit them occasionally to foster them. At the end of last year we had to look for a new prospect preacher to move to Tepic and work with this church. We had a preacher which had agreed to move and work with us from Aguascalientes. But for personal health issues he was unable to move to Tepic. It was bad news for us since we had a short notice to replace him. And we prayed for this. While I visited the city of Torreon for the preacher’s seminar we met our new preacher. He is a graduate bible student from the preaching school in Torreon. He recently married a young student at the same school and she will be graduating this summer. They have committed to move then to Tepic and work with the church. We have asked them to move first to Zapopan for a couple of weeks and they can be involved with the local church and vise versa.
The church in Tepic is having more visitors and we see potential for growth. So this next semester will be crucial for the harvesting in Nayarit.

TEQUILA CHURCH PLANT IN PROGRESS
In our back burner we have the plans in the city of Tequila. Based on the delay we had to prepare in finding a new preacher in Tepic, we postponed our initial stages for the plant in Tequila until this summer. The local church at Zapopan is willing to take their part, and is already preparing who will go for the survey trip. Since we started sharing this vision with others we have met some possible contacts in the city, and we pray these can be the first to accept Christ.

We finalize this report asking you to pray for us as well as to continue in our partnership with us. Financial participation is necessary but we trust our Lord to keep us in the plans and goals we have using ministries like you. There are many people involved and this promotes spiritual nurturing for all and, we thank you.
